How does Dodo Payments work with Traceten?
Dodo has no built-in Traceten connection, so its webhook forwards each payment to the Traceten Payment API, which credits it to the AI assistant that sent the buyer. A transform runs on Dodo's own servers, so no code of yours is involved, and a payment in any of 30 currencies converts at that day's rate.
What will you see in Traceten?
- Payments by AI assistant
- Each forwarded payment is matched to the visit that led to it and credited to that visit's source.
- Net of refunds
- A forwarded refund comes off the source that earned the original payment.
- Checkout links without metadata
- Dodo appends the payment id to your return URL, and the snippet on that page reports it.
- 30 currencies
- A payment in any of 30 currencies is converted to USD at that day's rate.
How do you connect Dodo Payments?

Point a Dodo webhook at the Payment API
In Dodo, add a Custom webhook endpoint for the Payment API and subscribe it to payment.succeeded and refund.succeeded.

Add the transform and your key
Paste the transform from the guide with your site key, and add an Authorization header with an API key that has ingest:write.

Pass the visitor id at checkout
Set traceten_visitor_id in the checkout session's metadata, or send buyers back to a return page that has the snippet.

01Is Dodo Payments a native Traceten integration?
No. Stripe, Shopify, Lemon Squeezy, Polar and Paddle connect natively. Dodo forwards its webhook to the Payment API, which records and attributes each payment the same way.
02Do I need a server to connect Dodo Payments?
No. Dodo's webhook transform posts straight to the Payment API. Forward from your own server instead if you issue more than one partial refund on a payment.
03Does Traceten import past Dodo payments?
No. Only payments you forward are recorded, starting from when you set it up.
04Which API key permission does the Payment API need?
ingest:write. The key goes in an Authorization header on the Dodo endpoint, never in the transform code.
