What does connecting Polar to Traceten give you?
Every paid Polar order, renewals included, is credited to the AI assistant that sent the buyer. You paste an organization access token and your organization ID. Traceten creates the webhook endpoint, imports the last 90 days of paid orders and subtracts refunds from the source that earned them.

How do you connect Polar?

Create an access token
In Polar, create an organization access token with orders:read, webhooks:write and organizations:read.

Paste it into Traceten
In Settings, then Integrations, pick the site your checkout runs on, choose Polar and paste the token and organization ID.

Pass the visitor id at checkout
Send the visitor id as checkout metadata named traceten_visitor_id, or add ?checkout_id={CHECKOUT_ID} to a Checkout Link's Success URL.

01Which scopes does the Polar token need?
orders:read, webhooks:write and organizations:read. Traceten reads orders and creates one webhook endpoint, and the token is stored encrypted.
02Why does Traceten subscribe to both order.created and order.paid?
Which of the two a Polar organization sends cannot be known at connect, so Traceten takes both. The second to arrive is recognised as the same order and dropped.
03Are Polar subscription renewals attributed?
Yes. A renewal creates an order, so it is credited to the AI source that won the customer and feeds the per-subscription lifetime value report.
04Can I attribute a Polar Checkout Link without writing code?
Yes. Add ?checkout_id={CHECKOUT_ID} to the Checkout Link's Success URL on a page with the snippet, and the purchase is matched to that browser.
